A Water Ele build with secprof monk?
So, I am a old player been playing for 52 months, but my girlfriend recently just started playing this week to spend some time with me in what I enjoy doing in my free time and she has a thing about ONLY using Water magic I don't know why don't ask she is just like that. My problem is I am what I would call "build illiterate". I can't build them properly to compliment each other. As for her build What i was thinking was this:
1: Water Attunement
2: Ice Spear
3: Frigid Armor
4: Maelstrom
5: Glyph Of Lesser Energy
6: Mind Freeze (elite:Replace until aquired - Frozen Burst)
7: Rebirth
8: Mend Ailment
This is with 13 Water Magic and the rest into Energy Storage. I figure the lessor energy would help with maelstrom and Water attunement to keep it energy effective, Ice Spear to spam, Frigid Armor and Frozen burst to use when stuff gets to close until she can obtain Mind Freeze, Rebirth for when she is forced to run from a fight and come back to heal and Mend to put less burden on the monk henchie.
Can Anyone help me config a better one of leave advice to improve this. I got her a water staff crafted with the perfect stats and a off hand with the perfect stats also had her customize it for the bonus 20%. She is in Proph and is following the story so I built it around water and easy accessibility. Please help if you have a better idea.

Rebirth is a pretty bad PvP res. If you need to bring a res then I assume you are in either RA, GvG or HA. You shouldnt be bringing one in AB or any Competative missions.
Anyway.
If you are playing RA: bring a res sig, not rebirth - hopefully you'll only need to res once and the importance is speed.
If you are playing HA or GvG you will probably be told which build to run, but if you aren't then bring either res sig or (if you simply must being a monk res) resurrection chant.
For condition removal the best you could go for would probably be Mending Touch, rather than Mend Ailment.
Anyway, yes there are other things. But I thought I'd address the secondary issues first. Btw, if this is for PvE then, well, go ahead run what you want.

Shatterstone is a Factions skill, so she can't use it.
Try to explain to your girlfriend that water magic isn't a reliable choice for some areas, especially that with frozen elementals / ice imps, that have a higher armor resistance against cold damage.

Agreed with Morenovec. By explaining to your Girlfriend that water magic is not that great, you would be able to make a build with much more ease.

Judging by the way it's posted I'd say this is a PvE question...

Proph-only means no PvE skills. It also means the skill pool is very limited. There's not much you can do as an Ele with one campaign only, but fire and air are the best bets in Prophecies.
If going with Water, there are quite a handful of decent spells at your disposal:
* Blurred Vision - great anti-melee hex
* Deep Freeze - best AoE water spell
* Ice Spikes - watered down version of Deep Freeze
* Maelstrom - disrupt a clump of casters (for a few seconds until they leave the AoE)
* Rust - cheaper, faster, and lower AoE damage than Ice Spikes
* Ward Against Harm - your party is better off kiting than staying in the ward, but this is nice to have in emergencies
Later on, you can change your secondary, but if you want to stay /Mo, I recommend Protection Prayers.
* Aegis - best choice right here, partywide prot
* Convert Hexes - remove a stack of hexes, better for you since you have more energy to work with
* Protective Spirit - generic, energy-intense prot, but you have a lot anyways

1. Good
2. I like it
3. Good, but a NF skill (so why no Shatterstone? Just get an elite tome for her and let her RA enough to unlock it)
4. Meh. Frozen burst, ice spikes, or deep freeze would be better IMO if you want AoE. Blurred vision to help with physicals.
5. It's okay. Personally I might drop it for something else. If you get her shatter stone, use glowing ice here instead.
6. Bad, bad, bad. Use ward of harm, elemental attunement, water trident, or something else as your elite.
7. It's okay as long as she doesn't use it in the middle of a fight
8. Belongs on a monk. Have her run aegis or prot spirit instead.
For her Att split go 12+1+1 in water, 8+1 in energy storage, and 10 in whichever third line you bring.

One build that she might want to try out is:
Ether Renewal
Maelstrom
Deep Freeze
Ice Spikes
Rust
Blurred Vision
OPTIONAL (Possibly a res, monk skill, or armor increasing skill)
Water Attunement
Water Magic: 12 + 1 + 2
Energy Storage: 12 + 2
(Suggested weaponry includes a weapon of enchanting)
Ether Renewal is the first elite available to an ele (aside from using a tome) in Prophecies and would be able to provide ample self-healing and energy management, especially combined with water attunement, allowing her to be able to continuously cast spells. The other spells listed are the major AoE water magic skills, allowing her to deal AoE damage while snaring, lengthening signet activation time, interuppting, etc.
There are areas in Prophecies where it is adventagous to use water magic, such as in Ascalon and the Ring of Fire, but in areas like the Nothern and Southern Shiverpeaks, it might be better to use a different element because of the increased armor against cold damage of those foes. If you two are going to primarily play in NM, then your girlfriend could continue using water magic in the latter areas mentioned without any major setbacks.
As always, the above build is just a suggestion and that I would also suggest that your girlfriend experiment with builds until she creates/finds one she really likes.

ok, Thank you for the build. Yea She is a Water elementist and I am a Fire Elementist. I don't have much problem because cant really go wrong with fire. Water is much more complicated for me. We Will be always traveling together on those characters and we r going proph -> Factions -> NightFalls -> EotN doing all quests for that area when we arrive there. No runs or anything. You know completely legit to spend time with each other xD.

You should tell her to try Air if she doesn't want to use fire. Air doesn't have the "numbers everywhere" effect, but you can still make some really fun and quite effective builds with it. Blinds/weakness and big spikes are great for pve.

I understand how your girl friend feels. I have strong passion on Water spell and probably ONLY Water spells too!! Its just the overal Water scene, the ice, snow, snare, and somehow Water sound more "delicated and stylish" to me. (I've met other female players prefer only Water too!)
Anyway, I use pure Water Ele in PvE as well! Water Trident will do well, u can't go wrong with it. (Deep freeze or Ice spike, then spam Trident or use it on enemy trying to flee from your Maelstrom!) Don't forgot to bring Blurred Vision too. Armor of Mist is also a nice buff for Pure Water ele.
